Sci-Fi Geekout: Transformers 4

Sci-Fi Geekout: Transformers 4

So there is a new Transformers coming out featuring the... DINOBOTS!!! Coming out on the 26th of June its not that long a wait, I know I CAN'T!!! (but my girlfriend probably can).

But is it going to be a big disappointment (insert comments about Star Wars) and just a money grab or will it service us fans and lovers of the franchise (original and new)

From the pictures from production (a couple below) the new images for the cars look AMAZING!

Optimus Prime's new paint job
Bumblebee as a hotted up '67 Camaro (AMAZING!)
With an entirely new cast (Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor) but the same director will they combine as well as the last backbone cast. Only time will tell but with it seeming like its going another action packed they have the right big name involved (Wahlberg) who seems to be an action junkie. But with this either set before or after the last three movies I find it difficult to see how they are going to justify having an entirely new set of people involved.

With the last movie destroying Cybertron and featuring the death of Megatron, who are the enemies gong to be. Historically when the Autobots create the Dinobots they run rampant but they are created in response to the Deceptacons. It will be interesting to see how they create the enemy again with them basically being wiped out in the last one.

Michael Bay has created three great movies in the other Transformers films, so I do believe that this film will be no different. With so many factors possibly pulling it in the wrong direction and the difficulty in pulling it in line with the other films, I think it is going to be a challenge.

Having said all that about what might have gone wrong with the film (I have no proof, just feelings) I hope that it is a great success and another great installment of a personal childhood favorite of mine (I have all the original Transformers cartoon series).

So I leave you with the trailer of what will hopefully be the movie that breaks the rules about doing too many sequels. Let me know about your thoughts on it and if you think it will fly or bust.

Look forward to hearing from you
